About Radnor

Radnor is an affluent community located on Philadelphia’s beautiful Main Line. Radnor is a small area and shares a name with Radnor Township in Delaware County where it is located, so the fact that is an actual place is confusing to some. Radnor shares a zip code with Bryn Mawr (19010), Wayne (19087) and even Newtown Square (19073). Newtown Square is a town adjacent to the Main Line that has a small portion in Radnor Township (that portion is considered the Main Line). Radnor is often thought of as Wayne or Bryn Mawr, depending on which zip code it falls within.

Some of the smaller communities on the Main Line that share zip codes with others (such as Rosemont and St. David’s) and cover very small areas are basically named what they are because they have a stop on the Septa R5 line. So, while Radnor has a stop on the R5 line, it shares a zip code with Wayne and Bryn Mawr, and virtually every other characteristic of the two (including schools) and is basically located in parts of both places.

Radnor was once considered a country retreat for Philadelphia’s most prominent families. The community of Radnor includes the estates of Woodcrest (now Cabrini College), Walmarthon (now Eastern University), Bolingbroke, Rock Rose, and The Woods.

So, like Bryn Mawr and Wayne, Radnor is an excellent place to live with low crime, beautiful scenery, excellent shopping and dining, and topnotch schools. For more information about Radnor real estate, contact us today.
